Kayaking Experience
First got in a Kayak when on a rafting trip in Nepal aged 6 or something. Since then I've totally loved it and done a lot of runs in Scotland, Also paddled in Wales and France.
Favorite River?
Oh so many, but the Ubay race course in France has to be in the list, along with the Allt A' Chaorainn in Scotland, brilliant run when it's got a bit of water in it.
Last Swim?
Somewhere on the lower half of the Claire burn in full spate. Think the moral of the story is scout the river first... or you might find yourself parting company with your boat and end up bumping down with out any safety. Couldn't sit on my right ass cheek for about a week and still got a nice scar on my shoulder.
What are you most looking forward to about the Expedition?
The unexpected, I think the fun is going to come in problem solving. Of course I'm looking forward to the boating as well.
What do you think is going to be the biggest challenge on the Expedition?
All the logistics and organisation, also coming across some interesting horizon lines on multi-day trips.
Anything to brighten up the evenings?
Always take a pack of cards... ability to build camp fires...
What makes this Expedition so Special?
KayakNam is a student lead, student run expedition which makes it so special, also we're planning to hit a load of first descents in an area thats hardly been explored in a kayak. So it's going to be great.
