Expedition Aims and Objectives |

Here is an outline of our aims and objectives for the expedition. Aims - Discover the potential Vietnam has as a whitewater kayaking destination.
- Promote Vietnamese whitewater and make more accessible for future trips.
- Showcase the whitewater kayaking talent 'studying' at UK universities.
- Be able to say to our grandchildren: "When I was in Nam..."
Objectives (Probably not all, but most, of the ways we hope to achieve our aims!) - Get to Vietnam! (Fly to Hong Kong, 3 days on a train to Hanoi then head for the mountains)
- Explore the northern, mountainous regions of Vietnam. Depending on our findings and progress we will also be visiting Laos.
- Enjoy some relaxing monsoon spate boating.
- Eat some local food before asking what it is.
- Update the Expedition Blog as much as possible whilst out there with our photos and stories.
- On return write up the river guides and develop the site into a useful resource for planning kayaking trips to Vietnam.
- Send mum a postcard.
- Undertake a lecture tour on return at as many universities and paddling events as possible.
